Kiflemariam Gebrewold works as a journalist for security-development policy and has worked 20 years as a developpement worker. He says: "African presidents are being (mis)used as bouncers for the EU. For the sake of keeping migrants out of Europe-a paramount goal of The EU, they are ready to sell their heart and soul. Partnership becomes a permanent pain for Africa."
