Charli Shield

Journalist, audio producer, co-host of Living Planet

Charli Shield is a journalist specializing in audio and narrative storytelling, with a focus on the climate and environment.

She is an experienced podcast and radio host, audio producer, and environment reporter for DW. Originally from Australia, she's now based in Germany. She tells immersive, in-depth stories about people, their environments, and the planet's future for the DW Environment desk’s award-winning weekly podcast and radio show Living Planet.

Charli also co-created DW’s award-winning history podcast Don't Drink the Milk: The Curious History of Things about the strange and surprising stories behind things we think we know well. She produced its top three performing episodes to date, one of which won a Publisher Award for Best Culture Podcast.
