Cote d'Ivoire sets record kilo price for cocoa

November 6, 2025

The price of chocolate has significantly increased. And although there are hopes for a bumper cocoa crop this year, the farmers in Cote d'Ivoire have not always profited from the trade, despite higher shop prices.

Cote d'Ivoire has set a record cocoa price of €4.26 ($4.92) per kilo, aiming to boost farmer incomes in the world's top cocoa-producing nation.

Farmers like Koffi Albert hope the increase will help cover costs and keep children in school, after years of low profits and climate-related challenges.

Despite rising chocolate prices globally, growers still earn only a fraction of the final product's value, sparking debate over price regulation.
