Lighting-fast robbery in Germany's Sylt

Masked robbers managed to break into a high-end store on the German island of Sylt, rob it, and flee the scene within just two minutes, police said. The thieves made out with some €500,000 ($585,059) worth of goods.

German police called on potential witnesses to come forward after a group of robbers stole around €500,000 ($585,059) in expensive clothing and jewelry from a shop on the island of Sylt on Friday morning.

The thieves broke the door at the store in the small town of Kampen at 3:14 a. m. according to the police. They wore dark clothes and face masks.

The perpetrators proceeded to smash the glass display showcases, grab the loot, and flee the scene only two minutes later in a car that was waiting outside the shop.

They remain at large, the police said on Friday.

Kampen is home to less than 500 people but draws over 25,000 visitors per year. The island of Sylt is a popular vacation destination for Germans, especially among the high society.
