Thousands took to the streets of the US city of Minneapolis to oppose the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. But the Trump administration is taking the side of the shooter, saying he is owed a debt of gratitude.

Minneapolis is tense after protests erupted over a massive federal immigration raid ordered by President Donald Trump. An ICE officer fatally shot Renee Nicole Good, a US citizen, sparking outrage and claims the operation was punitive.

The administration has called her a domestic terrorist; locals are demanding justice after the FBI blocked state probes and Vice President JD Vance granted the agent immunity. Governor Tim Walz has urged unity, but protests and calls for ICE to leave are set to continue.
