Zelenskyy open to demilitarized zone in Ukraine's east

Ukraine's sovereignty remains central to the US-backed peace plan even as demilitarized zones are discussed. As it is, Russia has given no indication it would agree to a withdrawal and has continued to attack Ukraine.

All eyes are on Moscow as it prepares to respond to a new US-backed 20-point peace proposal, agreed during talks between US and Ukrainian negotiators in Florida.

The proposal also offers a potential compromise over control of the Donbas, a long-standing sticking point in efforts to end Russia's war in Ukraine.
