Young climate activists in Zimbabwe are taking environmental protection beyond conference rooms and into everyday life. In Harare’s Monavale Wetland, a protected area crucial to the city’s water cycle, groups like Climate Control Zimbabwe are combining clean‑ups, education and creativity to raise awareness. Led by activists Elaine Chiroto and Hannah Mapisire, volunteers remove trash, explore the wetland’s rich biodiversity and celebrate with a “silent disco” that respects wildlife and nearby residents. Art, music and debate are central to their approach, especially to engage young people. The video shows how fun, community-driven events can help protect fragile ecosystems and build a deeper understanding of how nature’s interconnected systems sustain life.
