German Chancellor Olaf Scholz landed in Israel on Tuesday to show solidarity and for talks with Israeli leaders after Hamas' terror attacks.

Scholz is expected to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli President Isaac Herzog on the trip.

The chancellor will also meet the relatives of German hostages held by Hamas in Gaza. 

After visiting Israel, Scholz is scheduled to head to Egypt.
