坐落於地中海東南岸及紅海亞喀巴灣北岸,北靠黎巴嫩,東北鄰敘利亞,東與約旦接壤,巴勒斯坦的約旦河西岸地區和加薩地帶各居東西。以色列人口達到852萬,為世界唯一的猶太人佔多數國家,其中74.8%為猶太裔,20.8%為阿拉伯裔,人數達177萬。
