Die Fahnen Deutschlands, der Europäischen Union und Chinas wehen während der Eröffnungsfeier für die neue Frachtflugverbindung zwischen Deutschland und China am Montag (24.09.2007) in Parchim im Wind. Vom Flughafen Parchim soll eine regelmäßige Frachtverbindung nach China aufgebaut werden. Die Frachtfirma LinkGlobal hatte den defizitären Flugplatz südöstlich von Schwerin im Mai vom Landkreis gekauft und wird künftig regelmäßig auf der Route zwischen der zentralchinesischen Stadt Zhengzhou (Provinz Henan) und Parchim fliegen. Das Unternehmen hat eigenen Angaben zufolge rund 100 Millionen Euro für den Flughafen bezahlt.
